Safeguarding Information for Parents

Here you will find lots of information about keeping children safe and e-safety. Click the links below to find out all the latest news and useful websites.

Child Safety

It is everybody's responsibility to make sure children and young people feel safe and cared for. It is important that you know who to speak to if you are concerned about ANY child in or out of school. Passing on information could help to safeguard young people and should not be seen as interfering.

Our safeguarding officer at Honley CE (VC) Junior School is the Head Teacher - Linda Goodall, you can speak to her in confidence about any issues regarding the safety and well-being of children.

If you think a child is being harmed or at risk of being harmed you can call the Kirklees Safeguarding Duty and Assessment Team for advice or to make a referral on 01924 326093.

E-Safety

Here you'll find lots of useful links to sites that can help you monitor your child's Internet use. Search engines such as Google have 'search settings' buttons which you can alter to restrict searches and filter out inappropriate content for children. This is usually a simple tick box wizard which takes little time to complete. It is advisable to have some kind of parental control software. Some software can be downloaded from the internet for free.
